Telios Prime is the fifth planet orbiting the Class 1 Yellow-White star Shiss. Telios Prime is also the homeworld of the sentient Telian species, as well as an extensive ecosystem of terrestrial and aquatic flora and fauna. Telios Prime has one natural satellite, Tenian.

About 200 000 years ago, a massive asteroid impact on Telios Prime forever changed the landscape and ecology of the planet and resulted in the destruction of over 80% of the Telian species. The consequences from the impact also left lasting traces on the planet's geology. Primarily composed of metallic components and ores, the asteroid has provided Telios with an abundance of elements that were not present when the planet was created. These elements have interacted with the fauna and flora in unique and unexpected ways.

Another important geological note about Telios Prime is the total lack of a planetary magnetic field, due in part to the radical changes to the planet's mantle following the impact. Exposing over 29% of the liquid mantle resulted in a hardening and thickening of the planet's crust, leading to tremendous stability of the tectonic plates. This thickening has correspondingly slowed the spin speed of the core, leading to a dramatic reduction of the magnetic field.

Before the asteroid impact mentioned above, Telios Prime had two main continental land masses, two main oceans and several smaller land masses. Following the impact, tectonic plate shifting brought the two major land masses into a single large continent, and correspondingly left a single large ocean instead of the original two. But due to its distance from the star Shiss, Telios Prime maintains numerous types of environments, from small areas of bitterly cold climate, to vast areas of grasslands and prairies, with everything from mountainous regions, wetlands, oceanic, jungle and even temperate areas in between.

There are several hundred cities on Telios Prime, but the planetary capital is the large megapolis, Cithil-at. But there are many other cities of note, including Anasth-la, known for its beautiful location and fabulous beaches, Lanali-ra, known for its great centers of learning, and Shissta-la, used as the center of the space industry, and home to numerous ship construction facilities

Telios Prime, like the planets of the Shiss System, has been estimated to be around 5.2 billion years old, and due to its orbital placement around Shiss, has been the target of asteroid strikes from elements of the Shissian Belt for most of those years. Telios has harboured life forms for almost 6 million years, when the planetary environmental conditions made their development possible. Following several periods of environmental upheaval after large asteroid collisions, sentient life forms began to appear on the planet. Archeological discoveries have led Telian scientists to determine that three distinct sentient species evolved during a period of time between 1.2 to 2.5 million years ago. But 1.2 million years ago, an asteroid impact resulted in the destruction of two of those sentient species, leaving Telians, or at least their ancestors, as the only sentient life form directly evolved on Telios Prime.

With the exception of a small polar region ringed by mountains, on the continent, most of the land area is available for cultivation and settling. Like many life bearing planets, Telios Prime has an extensive ecosystem of fauna and flora, and although many species are now extinct, many new species have emerged or evolved from earlier ancestors. A thorough cataloging and genetic sampling of Telios Prime lifeforms has led to great discoveries about the relationship between species and ecosystem.

The weather on Telios Prime is quite mild considering its history. Due to the creation of a large, single ocean as well as a single continent, the weather patterns have become much more severe, but at the same time, more predictable than ever before. A large current in the ocean serves to carry much of the heat of the northern regions to the southern ones, in essence  attempting to serve  entropy by balancing out the temperature globally.
