The Cresian Empire was an empire located on Fresca, with its capital at Cresiopolis. The borders of the empire largely coincide with that of the current region of Cresia. Despite its name, it was smaller than other empires of its time, such as the Vendian Empire.

History[]

The Cresian Empire was founded on 32192-08-078 DT as the Kingdom of Cresia. Founded after the days of Cresius, it was the only state to have officially adopted Cresianism at its state religion. The Cresian Empire was named after its first emperor, Cresius I, who had taken his name after Cresius.

Cresian unification was achieved during the reign of Cresiana IX, who had conquered all Cresian-speaking lands. The empire had reached its apex under Cresia XVII, which large areas of non-Cresian-speaking lands under its rule.

The last emperor was Cresian XXV, whose defeat by the Vendian Empire in 34019-09-069 DT resulted in the loss of Cresian independence. After the conquest, Cresia was incorporated into the Vendian Empire as the Province of Cresia.

The Cresian Empire was a monarchy headed by an emperor (or an empress). It followed equal primogeniture, which meant that the eldest child of the monarch was the heir apparent.

There were 104 reigning emperors of Cresia.

Senate[]

The Cresian Senate was a branch of the imperial government. The Senate was a gathering of Cresian aristocracy; the institution constituted a check on the emperor's power.

Political divisions[]

The Cresian Empire was divided into provinces. As the empire expanded, new provinces were added. Provinces near Cresiopolis tended to be smaller but more densely populated.

The provinces were, at the empire's greatest extent: in Lesser Cresia, Ardatha, Clisia, Cniesa, Cresiopolis, Ecneria, Lacesia, Lastria, Marvera, Nachora, Pavania, Sicaria, Someria, and Tobia; and in Greater Cresia, Colenea, Çarvina, Jenea, Nua, Raudona, and Rutembra.
