Salium is the Telian name for an element that is present in all parts of the galaxy and theorized by Telian scientists to be the second most abundant element around. It is the result of the fusion of two Telium atoms, present in most studied stellar bodies. It is the simplest atomic pairing that can be achieved and is the by-product of Telium fusion reaction (as well as abundant energy). Telian scientists have determined that Shiss, the primary stellar body of the Shiss System, is currently made up of around 73% telium and 27% salium.
Salium is also present in the atmosphere of Telios Prime, although in small percentages only. Used extensively in several industrial settings, salium is often stored in liquid state, under pressure in specialized containers and is much more stable than telium in those conditions.
